Serene Siren watches from her window. Her eyes move with Spencer and Laney as they come home. She mutters under her breath, curious, almost hungry. They share more than a roof, she is certain of it. Why wait any longer? She slips out her door, crosses the street, and peers through their side window. A throat clears behind her. She spins around. Spencer and Laney stand inches away. Caught, Serene blurts that she needs sugar. Spencer nods and lets her in. Once inside, Serene wanders, questions, stalls. Finally, her smile drops and the truth falls out: she knows what they do behind closed doors. Spencer and Laney freeze, but Serene’s voice softens with want. She wants in.
