Katie stands at the counter folding laundry when Khloe bursts in from school, face tight and eyes wet. Katie asks what's wrong, but Khloe only storms past and slams her bedroom door. Concerned, Katie knocks and tries again, yet Khloe snaps that she's fine. Later, when Khloe asks for the car keys, Katie refuses to hand them over until she knows her stepdaughter can drive safely. After another round of snapped refusals, Khloe finally blurts the truth: a girl at school rejected her and told everyone. Katie's expression softens. She admits she dated a woman in college too. Curious, Khloe asks how she can tell when another girl is attracted, and Katie starts to explain, but Khloe cuts in—she’s also had her eye on Katie. The older woman pauses, then offers to show Khloe what she wants to know. They leave the laundry and slip into the bedroom, the distance between them dissolving fast.
