The water makes it better. Candy and Dolly slip outside, nothing between them but the air. They bring their hands to each other, taking turns. Candy presses four fingers in first, then the thumb, watching the way Dolly opens. Dolly gasps, legs wider, hips already rolling to take the whole hand. She does the same to Candy a moment later, wrist disappearing inside her. Their bodies answer right away, every shift of hand met with a wet sound and a shiver. They talk each other through it, how much, how slow, how deep, but the lesson isn’t in words. It’s in the heat and the stretch and the way they keep asking for more.
