It's getting hot in here

Sophie and I stepped into the sauna. Heat wrapped around us, thick and deliberate. Steam filled every breath, loosening tight muscle and dampening skin, but it couldn't quiet what stirred beneath the surface. Each glance lingered too long. Every brush of our knees under the bench sent another current through us. She leaned back against the wooden wall, legs parting slightly as sweat traced slow paths between her breasts. My own pulse hammered. The air smelled of cedar and salt. I reached for her wrist and she pulled me in instead, mouth finding mine before either of us could reconsider. Heat wasn't the only thing rising.
