Desi convinced Elli she needed to try something new, so she set up a meeting. Kelly and Riley showed up ten minutes early and filled the kitchen with small talk. Desi poured more wine. Ten minutes in, the words started to blur. Desi looked at Riley longer than the rest of them, felt the shift before it had a name. She waited until Kelly went to refill the bottle, then touched Riley’s wrist and walked down the hall. They didn’t speak. In the bedroom she turned, stepped in close, pressed her mouth to Riley’s neck, then kissed lower until Riley was breathing harder and leaning back against the door. Riley slid her hands under Desi’s shirt, found bare skin, and Desi answered by easing Riley onto the bed, hips settling between her spread legs, grinding once before she kissed her properly.
