Sabrina stepped into the tattoo parlor knowing exactly what she wanted inked on her skin. The male artist behind the counter immediately leaned across the glass case, eyes traveling over her chest as he spoke. She gave short answers. Flat. Uninterested.
Then the bell above the door rang.
Two women walked in, both covered in ink, both moving with the easy confidence of people who knew every eye in the room was on them. Ariel X, all sharp angles and dense black work across her forearms. Jade Starr, softer curves but the same hard stare. Sabrina felt the shift in her body before she could stop it—heat low in her belly, pulse skipping.
The male artist kept talking. Sabrina stopped hearing him. Her gaze stayed fixed on the women as they examined flash sheets, their fingers tracing lines across each other’s back, low laughter between them. She caught Jade looking back once. A small, knowing smirk.
Later, when Sabrina finally left, her skin bare, no stencil applied, the male artist was still behind the counter, still talking to no one.
