Hazel is home alone when a saleswoman named Sally rings the bell. The conversation shifts from pleasantries to something more intimate the moment Sally holds up a garter with a hidden pocket meant to hide money or keys. Hazel likes what she sees, so Sally kneels and wraps the band around her thigh to show the fit. Her palms slide slowly, deliberate. Each new garter slides higher; each touch lingers longer. Hazel’s breath shortens. Sally’s fingers trace the soft skin right below the hem of her skirt, then dip beneath it, never quite breaking the innocent act until she brushes the edge of Hazel’s underwear. The pretense falls away.
