You Look Familiar

Claire lies naked on the table, towel over her ass. Charlie walks in and stops. They both stare. “You look familiar,” Charlie says. “So do you,” Claire answers. Neither of them can place it. The appointment presses forward anyway. Charlie’s hands glide over warm skin. She spends extra time on the lower back and each leg, slow and careful. Tension coils beneath every pass. Fingers press deeper. Skin grows slicker. A quiet, electric charge thickens the room. They don’t know why they feel this pull. Memory hangs just out of reach, taunting them both.
