Aria and Maya sprawl across the living room carpet, passing a bottle of wine and trading stories from nights gone by. The gap between sleepovers had stretched too long. Maya drops her voice when she talks about men. They want girls who look like Aria. She could never compete, she says. Her face flickers with that old self-doubt. Aria sets the bottle down. "Come on."
