Accepting Change

Lily and Emma sit with their unopened letters, knees touching. Lily tears hers open first, reads the word accepted, then reaches for Emma. Emma’s letter says no. Her shoulders drop. Lily sets her own acceptance aside without a second glance and pulls Emma against her, holding her while the paper slips to the floor. The hug deepens. Their mouths meet, soft at first, then hungry. Lily’s hand slides beneath Emma’s shirt, palm meeting the warm skin of small, natural breasts. Emma mirrors the touch, fingers circling Lily’s nipples until they stiffen. They undress one another in silence, skin brushing skin. Lily guides Emma onto her back, parts her thighs, and lowers her mouth between them, tongue stroking slowly, tasting every slick inch. Emma’s breath catches, hips lifting, then she reaches down, finds Lily’s own heat, and slips two fingers inside. They move together, mouths and hands trading places, learning each other’s rhythm until pleasure breaks over both of them in quiet, shaking waves.
