Evelyn Claire pulls a crumpled dress from the washing machine and her face drains. She clutches the fabric, breath catching. “Oh my god… no, please, no.” Her voice rises, thin and shaky. “She’s gonna be so mad.”
Alina Lopez steps through the doorway. She sees the ruined silk, then sees how Evelyn is trembling. Evelyn blurts an apology before Alina can speak. “I’m sorry. The machine—it must’ve snagged something. I didn’t mean to. I swear.” She edges back, eyes wide, already bracing for the blow that never comes.
Alina keeps her hands low, her voice quiet. “It’s just a dress.” She moves closer and Evelyn still flinches, shoulders curling in. Alina stops. She lets the silence settle until Evelyn’s breathing steadies. Only then does she lift her arms, palms open, offering without pressure.
Evelyn leans in first. Alina folds her into the hug, fingers sliding gently through blonde strands. Evelyn’s apology is muffled against Alina’s shoulder. Alina’s answer is firm. “You’re not dumb. It’s not your fault.” She reminds Evelyn that her past taught her to expect pain, then promises she will never raise a hand or her voice in anger.
Evelyn’s body softens by inches. Her apology turns into gratitude, words small but certain. “I’m so lucky to have you.” Alina answers with a kiss, slow and certain. When Evelyn parts her lips, Alina’s tongue slides in, tasting relief. Their mouths stay pressed together while hands drift lower—Alina’s fingers tracing the dip of Evelyn’s waist, then slipping under the hem of her shirt. Evelyn’s breath stutters when Alina cups one small breast, thumb circling the tight nipple through thin cotton.
The kiss deepens. Alina eases Evelyn back against the dryer, hips pinning her gently in place. Her free hand moves lower still, fingertips dipping past the waistband of Evelyn’s shorts. Evelyn spreads her thighs without hesitation. Alina finds her already wet and sinks two fingers in, slow and careful, curling until Evelyn moans into her mouth. The machine hums beside them, forgotten, as Alina keeps her promise with every steady stroke: nothing will hurt her again.
