Elsa Jean dressed sharp, ready to impress. She walked into the room sure she'd nail it. Charlotte Stokely shook her hand then passed her the first card. Elsa stared, lost. She missed every cue. Charlotte wrote something down, tapping her pen like she'd already made up her mind. Elsa asked for another chance. Charlotte slid the card back. Two women kissing, she said. Elsa couldn't see it. She started guessing again, words tripping over themselves. Charlotte gave her a fresh blot. Elsa squinted, pointed out shapes, then paused. A woman, she guessed, fingers between her thighs.
