Jane Wilde lay across her bed, pages open, when a knock pulled her up. Chloe Cherry stepped inside and gave her name. Jane sprang forward and pulled the new girl into a hug that brought them both down to the mattress. Talk drifted over class schedules, late-night habits, the minor fear Chloe had about living so close to everyone. Jane smiled, told her to wait until the first good party, that hunger for bodies and noise would find her quick.
Chloe moved into the hall to finish her boxes. Jane stayed where she was, heartbeat wild. The new roommate was beautiful in a way that made the room smaller. She stripped, slid into hot water, tried to think of something else, and failed. One palm slipped between her thighs; two fingers found wet heat and began a steady push-pull. Each time her knuckles curled, her back lifted in shallow arches.
Chloe pushed the door wider and froze in place. Her eyes widened, lips parted. Heat rolled through her as she backed into her own room. In seconds her hips pressed into the mattress, her hand frantic inside jeans, knees parting for room. She came loud, breath stuttering through her teeth.
In the bath Jane heard. She rose, water streaking her skin, opened the door just enough to see Chloe trembling through the last throb. When Chloe caught the glance, color rose in both cheeks. Jane told her it didn’t matter. Chloe’s voice cracked on the word “virgin.” Jane’s face warmed at once, lips curving. She padded across the floor and took Chloe by the wrist. The lesson started now, she said, and they were going to enjoy every minute.
